To enable young people to share in the experience and to take part in the Summer School, the Institute for Co-operation with Central and Eastern European Countries in Public Reform (IMO) of HWR Berlin makes scholarships available for master students covering accommodation and travel costs. The Summer School is financed by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) under the programme “Ost-West-Dialog” (East-West dialogue).
In close reference to this programme and in accordance with the DAAD Support Guidelines, the Summer School therefore is to promote dialogue and understanding. Topics are:
the Russian-Ukrainian Conflict
Rule of Law and Fighting Corruption
Providing ample space for discussion, the lectures given in English by HWR professors are not only to impart specific knowledge, but also to demonstrate the efficiency of state-of-the-art teaching methods in terms of developing both the students' ability to accept critique and their discursive behaviour, which is facilitated by the Ukrainian and Kazakh students' good command of English.
