Jewish-Ukrainian Night: Meet 3 young filmmakers & their films
22 Mai, 19:00
ostPost, Choriner Str. 84, 10119 Berlin-Mitte
fEast - is a new cultural event series at ostPost which brings you closer to the Eastern European culture.
Our 2nd edition of fEast will show you three young Jewish documentary and fiction filmmakers from Ukraine, whose short films “Find Fix Finish”, “A Veteran’s Destiny” and “Papascha” are an international success at film festivals and were nominated several times.
Each film has it’s own personal touch and technique, but what Mila, Tatjana and Diana have in common is their story and the open question of identity – born in Ukraine, with Jewish blood, raised in Germany – a triple identity if you like. A blessing or a stigmata? Is your identity what people see in you ergo identity equal stereotype? Can you choose to redefine your identity and how can it be done through art? What does it mean for the young women to be Jewish-Ukrainian filmmakers?
Join us for a short discussion on the triple identity topic and enjoy three touching films.
Pre-sale: 4,50€ (till 21.05. midnight), at the door: 7€
